We Took On The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge to Raise Money For Children's Cancer

🥾 We Did It! Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – Complete!

We’re thrilled to share that our team has officially completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge – and what an achievement it was!

On June 28th, six of our colleagues set off from Horton-in-Ribblesdale in North Yorkshire, determined to tackle one of the UK’s toughest endurance hikes. The challenge? Conquer the iconic summits of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough in under 12 hours — a punishing 24.5-mile route with over 1,600m of elevation gain. And they smashed it.

💪 All three peaks completed.
🔥 All 24.5 miles conquered.
⏱️ All done in under 12 hours.

💛 Supporting a Cause That Matters

We took on this challenge to raise money for Children’s Cancer North, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children living with cancer across the North East and Cumbria.

Every year, around 100 children in our region are diagnosed with cancer and treated at the Great North Children’s Hospital in Newcastle. Children’s Cancer North plays a vital role in funding research, enhancing hospital environments, and supporting access to life-saving clinical trials.

Thanks to the generosity of friends, family, customers, and colleagues, we’re proud to say we raised an incredible £1,600 for this amazing charity. Your support means the world — thank you!

🙌 Meet the Team

We couldn’t be prouder of our colleagues who pushed through aching legs, tired feet, and tough terrain to complete the challenge:

Paul Edwards – Branch Manager, Gateshead

Alan Nicklas – Internal/External Sales, Gateshead

Alan Proctor – Warehouse Manager, Gateshead

Kevin Phillipson – Company General Manager

You’ve done yourselves — and all of us proud! The determination, teamwork, and grit you showed throughout the day was nothing short of inspiring, Well done guys!

🏁 What’s the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge?

If you haven’t heard of it before, the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is one of the UK’s most iconic endurance hikes — and for good reason.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the challenge takes on a circular route that covers three major peaks:

⛰️ Whernside – the highest of the three at 736m

⛰️ Ingleborough – known for its flat summit and dramatic views

⛰️ Pen-y-Ghent – a steep, rugged climb to start the day

To complete the challenge, walkers must cover the entire 24.5-mile (39.27 km) route in under 12 hours, with a total elevation gain of over 1,600 metres. That’s the equivalent of climbing Ben Nevis and then some — all in a single day!

It’s a serious test of endurance, stamina, and determination. Rocky paths, steep ascents, unpredictable weather, and sore feet are all part of the deal. But the sense of achievement at the finish line? Absolutely worth it.

Our team took it on with grit, teamwork, and no shortage of blisters

🙏 One Last Thank You

To everyone who donated, shared our fundraising page, or cheered us on — thank you. Your support made every step worthwhile.

To the team — we couldn’t be prouder. You’ve gone above and beyond for a brilliant cause, and we’re honoured to have you representing us.

Until the next challenge…
